About Holiday on Ice The most visited ice show on earth comes to the Westpoint Arena, Exeter during the middle of February most years. The Westpoint arena is about a mile from Clyst St. Mary, just outside of Exeter and hosts various shows throughout the year.
Holiday on Ice has been seen by over 320 million people throughout the world. It has become officially recognized as the most visited ice show in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records. The show has been running for over 65 years and every year it is a new spectacular array of costumes and breathtaking skating by some of the best skaters in the world.
This year’s show piece is called Mystery and that is exactly what it is. This years’ show started in darkness, from the darkness the music started growing until these fantastic skaters streamed onto the ice. Their costumes were beautiful full length coats. They flowed so lightly as the air rushed past them due to the speed they were covering on the ice.
This was only the start and went on to show off some truly talented ice skaters. The wonderful acrobatic dancing and displays of the most wonderful costumes went on, at times it was hard to imagine that this was an ice show, that substance which we know as being slippery and try to avoid, for fear of falling over on.
If the show is coming to an arena near you or maybe you are on holiday in Devon around the time that this extravaganza comes to Westpoint. I’d recommend you taking a look, it is more than worth it, believe me you won’t be disappointed.
